Quality Editing for Your Doctoral Dissertation
Dr. Brian Shelton, Copy Editor

Editorial Services

Copy editing is an important dimension to the doctoral dissertation process. Careful review safeguards your work from unclear expression of ideas as well as distracting grammar, spelling, and syntax errors. This editorial service provides vital attention to the improvement of your scholarly work—line by line.

The process includes the following steps:

  1. Identification of underdeveloped ideas and concept convolution: Clarity is one of the most important qualities of a successful dissertation. This service identifies big-picture inconsistencies and vague, undeveloped sections. Attention is given to both the thesis and organization of the dissertation.

  2. Attention to grammar, spelling and syntax errors: Nothing deflates the argument of a first-rate dissertation like a glaring typo. This service provides important proofreading feedback and relief from embarrassing errors impacting the credibility of your dissertation.

  3. Feedback on style guide compliance: Technical details and conformity to style matters. This service identifies stylistic errors and nonconformity to handbook guidelines. As you work in APA 6th edition, we provide guidance on correct style and best practices. Attention is given to the main text as well as end matter (e.g., notes and bibliography).
